(ORAL) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus directing official respondents to get detenue Parneet Kaur release from the illegal detention of respondents No. 4 to 7, especially the mother and maternal uncle (mama).

On 5.11.2019, State counsel was directed to get the report of the SHO after recording the statement of the detenue. On 8.11.2019, it was brought to the notice of this Court that detenue Parneet Kaur had made statement that she was willing to marry the petitioner but her marriage was forcibly fixed by her mother and maternal uncle.

Today, detenue Parneet Kaur has been brought in Court by ASI Mahinder Singh. She states that she is major and has been pursuing B.A. GURPREET SINGH 2019.11.14 17:31 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh

CRWP No. 1045 of 2019 -2- (final year). She has expressed her willingness to join the company of petitioner Sehaj Pal.

In view of the above, the detenue is at liberty to go with the petitioner.

However, petitioner Sehaj Pal is directed to deposit an amount of Rs. 1.00 lac by way of an FDR in the name of the detenue in some nationalized bank. Compliance of this part of the order by the petitioner shall be intimated to this Court within 15 days. The petition stands disposed of.
