The petitioners herein seek that their date of enlistment as Constables be brought at par with the date when SPOs junior to the petitioners were enlisted as Constables on out of turn basis. The petitioners also pray for grant of other consequential benefits.

It has been submitted that the case of the petitioners is fully covered by a judgment dated 16.3.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-5648-2017 titled as Sukhmander Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others (Annexure P4). 3.

Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - The Director General of Police, Punjab Police Headquarter, Sector - 9, Chandigarh to consider the legal notice dated 6.6.2023 (Annexure P-5) in accordance with law while bearing in mind the ratio of Sukhmander Singh's case (supra) and to dispose of the same expeditiously preferably within a period of 6 months from today. 7.
