(ORAL) Prayer in the present petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. is for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.72, dated 14.11.2021 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 307/326/ 324/506/148/149 of the IPC, 1860, at Police Station Khem Karan, Tehsil Patti, District Tarn Taran, Punjab.

After arguing for some time counsel for the petitioner submits that he will confine his prayer to expeditious disposal of trial keeping in view that the incarceration suffered by the petitioner is already more than one year.

As per the State Counsel the trial has been committed to the Sessions Court only on 6th of March, 2023. However, this Court cannot lose site of the fact that the petitioner is in custody for last more than 1 year DEEPAK KUMAR 2023.03.17 09:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-56137-2022 -2and definitely has a right to claim expeditious trial. Otherwise also it is in the interest of justice that the trial must be concluded expeditiously.
