RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Petitioners have approached this Court praying for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 6 not to allow 578 new voters living in the housing colony being developed by `Omaxe Silver Birch' who have nothing to do with the village and its Gram Panchayat, to participate in the election of the Gram Panchayat and all the residents of the colony are outsiders and of different states but all these residents have wrongly and illegally been added as voters of Gram Panchayat of village Rani Majra in a wrong and illegal manner as per the voter list and instead of adding them as voters of Municipal Corporation, SAS Nagar, Mohali, they have been illegally added as voters of Gram Panchayat Rani Majra.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that for redressal of their grievances, the petitioners have already given a MEENU 2024.10.07 15:29 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document representation before respondent No.5 on 29.12.2023, but the same has not

On the asking of the Court, Mr.Jaspal Singh Guru, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State and submits that the representation of the petitioners would be decided at the earliest.

After hearing the learned counsel for the parties and going through the facts of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.5-Sub Divisional Magistrate-cum-Assistant Returning Officer, Kharar, District SAS Nagar, Mohali, to look into the representation, Annexure P-4, and decide the same expeditiously preferably by 12.10.2024 in accordance with law.
