The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of order dated 04.08.2016 (Annexure P-10) whereby passport of the petitioner has been impounded. 2.
Amended Memo of Parties is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at appropriate place. 3.
Learned counsel for Union of India submits that passport has been impounded on the asking of CBI.

Learned counsel for CBI submits that it has not asked the passport authority to impound passport of the petitioner, however, petitioner may not be permitted to visit abroad without prior permission of trial court PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.12.06 10:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during the pendency of litigation, passport of the petitioner has expired. 6.
In the wake of statements of learned counsel for the parties, the petition stands disposed of with liberty to petitioner to file an application seeking re-issuance of passport. The passport authority would consider case of the petitioner in terms of the Passport Act read with Instructions dated 25.08.1993. The petitioner would be at liberty to seek permission from trial court, if at any stage, he needs passport and wants to travel abroad.
