1. The petitioner had been issued an arms licence in the year 2001 which was subsequently renewed from time to time and had been lastly renewed upto 19.9.2022. It is the case of the petitioner that he had applied for renewal of the said licence on the next day i.e. on 20.9.2022 and in respect of which he was also issued a receipt dated 20.9.2022 (Annexure P-2) indicating deposit of the requisite fee.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite a period of more than 1 year having elapsed, his application for renewal has not been processed till date although he had also made a representation dated 4.10.2023 (annexure P-3).

3. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed MOHAN SINGH 2023.10.19 17:30 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-23943-2023 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2023:PHHC:136425 of with a direction to respondent No.2-District Magistrate, Malerkotla to consider and dispose of representation dated 4.10.2023 (Annexure P-3) as regards the prayer of the petitioner for renewal of his arms licence, expeditiously preferably within a period of 3 months from today.

4. A copy of this order along with copy of legal notice dated 4.10.2023 (Annexure P-2) be sent to respondent No.2-District Magistrate, Malerkotla, for necessary compliance.
