The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India is seeking directions to renew his passport. 2.

The passport authority has not issued passport because an FIR is pending against the petitioner. The petitioner has filed CRM-M-43034 of 2023 seeking quashing of FIR No.47 dated 11.03.2020 under Sections 420/120-B of IPC and Section 13 of Punjab Smuggling Act, 2012 and Amendment Act, 2014, registered at Police Station Anaj Mandi, Patiala, District Patiala on the basis of compromise. The matter is still pending before this Court. .

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that application of the petitioner stands closed, however, he is at liberty to file fresh application PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.11.21 14:47 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Faced with this, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the instant petition with liberty to approach passport authority.
