HARPREET SINGH BRAR J. (Oral) Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari, for quashing the action of respondents in proceeding to fill 09 vacant posts of SDO (Civil) meant for the Degree Holders quota, from amongst the Diploma Holders quota only, without giving those posts proportionately to the quota of Drawing cadre as well as to which the petitioner belongs and further proceeding to fill one post out of total two posts via reservation for handicapped category in the quota of Drawing Cadre by considering respondent No.4. Further prayer has been made to restrain the official respondents in considering the candidature of the private respondents over and above the petitioner in the forthcoming DPC tentatively scheduled for 29.08.2025 and to direct the respondents to consider and grant the petitioner his due promotion MOHD YAKUB 2025.09.01 17:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CWP-25188-2025 (O&M) -2as per his seniority-cum-merit on the post of SDO (Civil) from amongst the Drawing cadre over and above the private respondents with all consequential benefits. Another prayer has been made to decide the representations of the petitioner dated 06.08.2025 (Annexure P-5) and 13.08.2025 (Annexures P-6 and P-7) before conducting the DPC tentatively scheduled for 29.08.2025.

Learned counsel appearing for respondents No.1 to 3, at the outset, submits that the representation made by the petitioner has been duly considered and a speaking order has been passed and thus, the petitioner is required to challenge the said speaking order. In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioner wishes to withdraw the present petition with liberty to file a fresh writ petition. However, he prays that the recommendation of DPC may be kept in abeyance for another week, to enable the petitioner to challenge the speaking order.

Dismissed as withdrawn with liberty aforesaid. The interim order passed by this Court on 28.08.2025 will enure for a period of one week from today.
