Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for issuing directions to respondent Nos. 1 & 2 to grant the benefit of Dearness Allowance @ 119% w.e.f. 01.07.2015. At the outset, learned counsel on instructions from petitioner submits that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his client would be satisfied in case the Legal Notice dated 22.08.2022 (P-7) is decided expeditiously.

Notice of motion to the aforesaid limited extent. On asking of the Court, Mr. D.K. Singal, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent(s)-State and raises no objection against the innocuous prayer of the petitioner. In view of the above, but without expressing any opinion on merits of the claim of the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed off with direction to the competent authority to consider and decide the above legal notice as per law, within eight weeks from receipt of certified copy of this order.
