The petitioners through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, are seeking direction to respondent Nos.1 and 2 to reissue them passport. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners inter alia contends that petitioners are minors and they are staying with their mother. On account of matrimonial dispute, the marriage of parents of the petitioners has already been dissolved vide judgment dated 16.11.2022 passed by Additional Principal Judge, Family Court, Jalandhar. The mother of the petitioners has filed Annexure 'C' alongwith application seeking passport. The respondents have accepted Annexure 'C' filed by mother of the petitioners, however, respondents are raising objection with respect to date of marriage of the parents of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that police verification report is still awaited. She further submits that petitioners may be directed to appear before passport authority alongwith their mother and requisite documents. On doing so, passport authority would pass an appropriate order.

Learned counsel for the petitioners agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In view of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioners to appear before the passport authority on 18.12.2023 alongwith their mother and requisite documents. The passport authority shall decide application of the petitioners within six weeks from 18.12.2023.
