In the present petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to treat the petitioner similar to other similarly situated employees and grant benefit of payment of arrears of pay.

It is the case of the petitioner that the respondents have granted arrears of pay along with 6% interest w.e.f. 26.11.1985 till the date of its realisation to other similarly situated employees. Reliance is made upon the orders dated 23.05.2025 (Annexure P-9) and 14.07.2025 (Annexure P-12) passed by respondent No.2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that at this stage, he will be satisfied if a direction is given to respondent No.2 to treat the present writ petition as representation and decide the same, in a time bound manner.

Learned State counsel does not oppose the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to treat the present writ petition as representation and consider and decide the same, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law. In event, the petitioner is held entitled for grant of relief as per the law, as claimed in the writ petition, the same be also released within a period of one month thereafter.
