The present Contempt Petition has been filed alleging violation of order dated 20.02.2024 (Annexure P/2) passed by the Hon'ble Division Bench of this Court in LPA No.492 of 2019 in CWP No.6110 of 2014, titled as 'State of Punjab and Others vs. Shakeela Bano and Others', whereby it was directed as follows:- "8. In view thereof, this Court has no hesitation to reassert the view taken by the learned Single Bench and dismiss the appeal of the State and direct that State to now consider the case of the writ petitioner for appointment on the post of Teaching Fellow from the date persons lower to her in merit were appointed on 19.04.2011 i.e. the candidates who were appointed pursuant to the second counselling and the writ petitioner be also given notional benefits including seniority from the said date. The pay fixation shall be done notionally and actually from the date of passing of order by the learned Single Bench i.e. 13.09.2018. Necessary exercise shall be done within two months henceforth."

At the very outset it is submitted by learned State counsel that an amount of Rs.18,98,592/- stands released to the petitioner by way of pending salary arrears for the period from 13.09.2018 to 30.06.2021 vide Voucher No.390 dated 29.01.2026. Learned counsel has filed compliance report of Block Primary Education Officer, Sherpur as Annexure R/1 in Court today, which is taken on record. Copy of the same has been handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner. Learned State counsel further points out that additionally an amount of Rs.30,00,000/- stands paid to the petitioner on 21.07.2025 as arrears of the salary for the period from 01.07.2021 to 12.09.2024. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner while acknowledging the receipt of the payment, submits that only an amount of Rs.15,31,027/- out of Rs.18,98,592/- has been credited into the account of the petitioner. It is further submitted that in actual fact, an amount of Rs.27,00,000/- was due to the petitioner. Learned counsel also admits the payment of Rs.30,00,000/- for the aforementioned period.

On this learned State counsel clarifies that an amount of Rs.15,31,027/- has been paid to the petitioner after making deductions of income tax to the extent of Rs.1,90,000/- plus NPS for an amount of Rs.1,76,545/-. Learned State counsel has supplied copy of computation chart dated 22.01.2026 in Court, which is taken on record. Copy of the same has also been handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner, who on perusal of the same, seeks time to challenge the said computation chart dated 22.01.2026. 5.

In view of the position as noted above, the present contempt petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the computation chart dated 22.01.2026, in accordance with law.
