The prayer in the present petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for issuance of directions to official respondents to expedite and conclude the investigation in case FIR No. 173, dated 06.11.2018, under Sections 406, 498-A, 354 and 323 IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar, District Mukatsar Sahib, to some logical end.

Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 3 has already been issued, vide order dated. 21.11.2019. Today there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner.

However, learned State counsel, upon instructions from HC Jaswinder Singh, has informed that after concluding the investigation, the cancellation report was presented on 05.03.2021. However, the Area Magistrate has not accepted the same and ordered for re-investigation, vide order dated 14.12.2022.

In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, it is noted that the FIR pertains to the year 2018. Despite the order for re-investigation in December 2022, till today, the further investigation has not been concluded. As such, the official respondents are directed to conclude the same within a period of six weeks and submit a report before the Area Magistrate. 5.

With the aforesaid observations, the present petition stands disposed of.
