The present petition has been filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 0155 dated 18.08.2022 under Sections 22-C, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act, 1985, registered at Police Station Kotbhai, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 18.08.2022 and despite the fact that the charges have been framed on 19.03.2023 not a single witness have been examined in the last one year. The learned counsel for the petitioner, however, prays for withdrawal of the present petition at this stage, with a direction to the prosecution as well as to the trial Court to expedite the trial. 3.

In light of the above, without commenting on the merits of the case, at this stage, the present petition stands dismissed as withdrawn, with a direction to the trial Court to expedite the trial and in case, it is found that PARUL 2024.04.10 20:22 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document
