HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE DEEPAK GUPTA Present:- Mr. Rishav Jain, Advocate for the petitioner. DEEPAK GUPTA , J.(Oral) Petitioner is brother-in-law (wife's brother) of respondent No.4. On account of matrimonial differences between respondent No.4 and his wife, i.e. sister of the petitioner, petitioner had to intervene, due to which respondent No.4 is allegedly threatening the petitioner to involve him in some cognizable offence.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that petitioner has got VISA to visit Canada in December, 2023 and he apprehends threat that because of threat extended by respondent No.4, he may not be able to go to Canada. He has prayed for necessary protection. He has also made representation dated 19.10.2023 (Annexure P-1) to respondent No.2Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, but no action has been taken. Notice to motion to respondent Nos.1 to 3 only. Mr. R.S. Khaira, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 -State.

Present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the representation dated 19.10.2023 (Annexure P-1) after assessing threat perception to life of the petitioner and do the needful as per law.
