Mr. A.S. Gulati, Advocate for the petitioners. ***** SANJIV BERRY. J. (Oral) This is a petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for directions to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondent No.4. 2.

It is, inter alia, contended that petitioner No.2 was earlier married to one Karan S/o Biram Pal, who expired on 21.12.2014 and thereafter she has contracted marriage with petitioner No.1 on 18.10.2023. Apprehending threat to life and liberty from respondent No.4, the petitioners have moved a representation Annexure P-5 to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar (Mohali) on 19.10.2023, but no action thereon has been taken till date. 3.

Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1 to 3 only. 4.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Anmol Singh Sandhu, AAG Punjab who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the State-respondent Nos.1 to 3.

Without commenting on the validity of the marriage, the petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, SAS Nagar (Mohali), to consider the representation dated 19.10.2023 (Annexure SANDAL SHARMA 2023.11.15 16:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
