**** HARPREET SINGH BRAR, J. (ORAL) The petitioners have filed the present petition under Section 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to official respondents for providing protection of life and liberty to the petitioner. On 27.10.2023 notice of motion was issued and respondents No.2 and 3 were directed to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No.4 to 8. Learned State counsel has filed the status report dated 28.11.2023 by way of affidavit of Mr. Varinder Singh Khosa, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, North, Amritsar on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and referred to the Statement of Gursahib Singh i.e. petitioner No.2 made on 08.11.2023 which is annexed with reply as Annexure R-1/T. Gursahib Singh has made statement that he does not apprehend danger from anyone.

CRWP-10567-2023 2023:PHHC:150965 -2Keeping in view the aforesaid facts and circumstances, no further directions are required to be passed in the present case. Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Gurcharan Singh submits that it is the duty of the State to protect the life and liberty of citizen. In case any specific instance is brought to the notice of respondents No.2 and 3, necessary steps will be taken in accordance with law.
Disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
