RITU BAHRI ACJ. (Oral) Prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to open the admission portal for all upper age category as per the Notification 11 of 2023 dated August 21, 2023 (Annexure P-1) issued by respondent No.1-Indian Nursing Council.

The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is that as per the Notification No.11 dated 21.8.2023 (Annexure P-1), there is no maximum/upper age limit for admission to the courses. However, as per information on the portal, as reflected in the e-mail sent to respondent No.1-Indian Nursing Council (Annexure P-2), the year of last date of birth is to be taken as 1988 and on account of this information, the petitioner has become VIJAY ASIJA 2023.10.30 17:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

2023:PHHC:138330-DB CWP-24519-2023 ineligible and the notification in question has still not been withdrawn by the respondents. The petitioner has given a representation through e-mail dated 29.8.2023 (Annexure P-4) to the Nodal Officer, Indian Nursing Council, which was also forwarded to the Nodal Officer, Indian Nursing Council as (Annexure P-5) to respondent No.2-PNRC (Punjab Nurses Registration Council) through Registrar. Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Ranjit Singh Kalra, Advocate has put in appearance and accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.2-PNRC.

Without expressing any opinion on merits of the present petition, the same is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the aforesaid representation (Annexure P-5) in accordance with law within four days from today. The petitioner can appear before the authorities tomorrow i.e. 31.10.2023 and the final decision be taken expeditiously.
