Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to fix the pension/family pension of the petitioners, consequent to retirement/death of concerned government employee on or before 31.12.2015 in terms of the provisions of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (Revised Pay) Regulations, 2021 as amended from time to time.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for claiming the aforesaid relief, the petitioners have submitted the representations dated 14.05.2024 and 18.06.2024 (Annexures P-8 and P-16, respectively) and at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied, if the said representations are decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame.

A.G., Punjab, has accepted notice on behalf of respondents No.3 and 4 and have no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to consider and decide the representations dated 14.05.2024 and 18.06.2024 (Annexures P-8 and P-16, respectively), submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
