**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) In the present case, the petitioners are claiming the selection grade of `7500-12000 w.e.f. 01.01.1996 instead of 01.08.2000. In support of their claim, the petitioners are relying upon an order passed by this Court in CWP No.8082 of 2001 titled 'R.K. Verma and others Vs. State of Haryana and another', decided on 01.12.2010. Counsel for the petitioners states that the abovesaid judgment has already attained finality and the similarly situated persons have already been granted the relief.

Counsel for the petitioners further states that for the relief which has been sought in the present writ petition, the petitioners have served respondents with a legal notice on 29.10.2018 (Annexure P-7), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the NARESH KUMAR 2018.12.24 17:59 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CWP-38126-2018 -2petitioners will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to the respondents to decide the said legal notice. In view of the request made, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case and the claim being made by the petitioners, the respondents are directed to decide the legal notice dated 29.10.2018 (Annexure P-7) by passing a speaking order within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. In case after the decision, it is found that the petitioners are entitled for any monetary benefit, the same shall also be released to them within a period of next two months. Further, it is made clear that the arrears shall only be restricted to 38 months from the date of filing of the present writ petition i.e. 18.12.2018.

Present writ petition stands disposed of.
