Learned counsel further submits that the petitioner would be satisfied at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 - Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, S.C.O. 28-32, Sector 34-A, Chandigarh, to consider and decide the aforesaid representation dated 12.09.2024 (Annexure P-6). 3.

On advance service of copy of petition, Ms. Neha Sharma, Senior Panel Counsel, Union of India, appears on behalf of the respondents and opposes issuance of notice of motion. She further submits that the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, S.C.O. 28-32, Sector 34-A, Chandigarh/competent authority shall take decision either way, on the pending representation dated 12.09.2024 (Annexure P-6) within a period of six weeks from today.

Keeping in view the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, S.C.O. 28-32, Sector 34-A, Chandigarh/competent authority to consider and decide representation dated 12.09.2024 (Annexure P-6) by way of passing a speaking order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties, within a period of six weeks from today. 5.
