Prayer in this second petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. is for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 0008 dated 24.01.2021 registered under Sections 22 and 25 of the NDPS Act (Section 29 of the NDPS Act added later on) at Police Station Sadar, Raikot, Ludhiana (Rural).
On instructions, learned counsel for the State submits that trial is at the fag end as out of total 18 prosecution witnesses, 14 have already been examined by the trial Court. He further submits that the next date before the trial Court is 02.02.2023, for recording statements of remaining prosecution witnesses.
In view of the above, this petition is disposed of, with a direction to the trial Court to expedite the trial.
