(Oral) This petition has been filed for quashing of FIR No.175 dated 25.11.2016, under Sections 341, 323, 148 and 149 of Indian Penal Code registered at Police Station Dirba, District Sangrur (Annexure P-1) and all the consequent proceedings arising therefrom, including the order dated 24.11.2022 (Annexure P-2) on the basis of compromise dated 01.12.2022 (Annexure P-3) arrived at between the parties. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that present FIR has

- - been registered at the behest of respondent No.2 against the petitioners and another accused namely Shero Kaur, who has expired during the trial. Vide order dated 08.12.2022, the !""#$%&&'&"() & was directed to record the statements of the parties with regard to the genuineness and validity of the compromise.

In compliance thereof, the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Sunam has submitted its report, vide letter dated 02.01.2023 which indicates that the parties appeared before the Magistrate and got recorded their respective statements with regard to the genuineness and validity of the compromise. As per the report, the compromise arrived at between the parties is genuine and without any pressure or coercion from any corner. Relevant extract of the said report is reproduced as under:-
