Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for directing respondent No. 1 to consider the case of petitioner for promotion to the post of Naib Tehsildar under 3% quota reserved for the category of Senior Assistant as provided in Appendix 'B' of the Punjab Naib Tehsildars (Group B) Service Rules, 2019. At the outset, learned counsel on instructions from petitioner submits that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his client would be satisfied in case Legal Notice dated 20.03.2022 (P-6) is decided expeditiously.

Notice of motion to the aforesaid limited extent. On asking of the Court, Ms. Lavanya Paul, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent(s)-State and raises no objection against the innocuous prayer of the petitioner.
