MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition is for compounding the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act in complaint NACT/116/2010 dated 07.12.2010 titled as 'Kirpal Singh Versus Ashraf Khan'.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that the petitioner is willing to pay the entire cheque amount in the sum of `27 lakh. A prayer has, therefore, been made for compounding the offence in question. It has also been submitted that a similar prayer has already been made before the learned Appellate Court. 3.

In the circumstances, no ground is made out to accept the instant petition and the petitioner would be well advised to await the decision of the learned Appellate Court in the said regard. In case, any such prayer has indeed been made before the learned Appellate Court, it be decided expeditiously, in accordance with law. 4.

The instant petition stands dismissed.
