The issue raised in the contempt petitions is that interest on the delayed payment of retiral benefits has not been paid. Learned counsel for the respondent has filed affidavits, same are taken on record, copies handed over to learned counsel for the petitioners. He submits that detail of interest has been mentioned in the affidavit; cheques with regard to payment of interest on gratuity and leave encashment have been deposited and cheques for interest on delayed payment of General Provident Fund are ready in the Head Office. He further submits that petitioners have been duly informed that they can collect the same on any working day. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that instead of petitioners' going to Patiala, let amounts be deposited in the bank account of the petitioners, the details of the same will be supplied in one week from today.

In view of above, the contempt petitions are disposed of with direction that petitioners shall either collect the cheques from the Head Office or will supply bank account details in which the amounts/cheques are to be deposited. In case details are supplied, the respondent shall deposit the same within one weeks thereafter. The petitioners shall be at liberty to avail remedies in case aggrieved of calculation of interest.
