***** SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J (ORAL) This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to step up of pay of the petitioner being senior General Category employee at par with his junior counterpart belonging to Reserved Category employee-Karambir Singh Ranga from the date of his promotion. The respondent-Karambir Singh Ranga, who was extended benefit of notional promotion to the post of Personal Assistant on 02.03.2006, thereby placing the junior counterpart of the petiitoner, belonging to SC Category, in a more advantageous financial position and denying stepping up of pay of the petitioner merely for the reasons that he belongs to General Category is totally arbitrary, mala fide and discriminating as contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
