The petitioner prays for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to grant the pay scale of ₹ 1,640-2,925/- w.e.f. 01.01.1986. The petitioners rely upon the judgment passed by this Court in Daljit Singh and Others v. State of Punjab and Others (Civil Writ Petition No. 9175 of 2000, decided on 26.05.2017). The learned State counsel has submitted that the correctness of the aforesaid judgment has been questioned before the Supreme Court in Special Leave to Appeal (Civil) No. 14572 of 2019 wherein, an interim order has been passed. 2.

Keeping in view the aforesaid stand of the learned State counsel, the learned counsel representing the petitioner prays for permission to withdraw the writ petition to file a fresh one after the decision of the Supreme Court in the afore-stated SLP.
