The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 24.04.2025 passed by this Court in CWP-10383-2024, which was disposed of in terms of CWP-13761-2024 titled as 'Akashdeep and others Vs. State of Punjab and others' and other connected cases decided on 09.01.2025.

In compliance of order dated 24.04.2025 passed by this Court in CWP-10383-2024, short reply by way of affidavit dated 13.02.2026 of Vimmi Bhullar, Director, Department of Social Justice, empowerment and Minorities, Punjab, along with notification dated 22.07.2016 (Annexure R1), has been filed on behalf of respondent No.2 before the Registry. COCP-4662-2025 (O&M) -2Punjab has preferred LPA No.3719-2025 and LPA No.3724-2025, wherein, vide order dated 23.12.2025, an interim order has been granted in the same terms as passed in LPA No.1648-2025 and other connected cases, i.e. "In the meantime, learned Single Judge is requested to adjourn the contempt petition beyond 17.12.2025.", by the Division Bench of this Court. 3.

In view of the above, the present contempt petition is dismissed. Liberty is, however, granted to the petitioner to avail the remedy as is available to him, in accordance with law, after the decision of LPA3719-2025. 4.
