The instant petition has been filed under provisions of Section 29-A of Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of period of 6 months for concluding the arbitration proceedings, which had commenced on 31.3.2021.

It has been informed that the matter had earlier remained pending before Hon'ble the Supreme Court for some period and the time had been extended by mutual consent of the parties and the same had lastly been extended on 27.2.2023 for 6 months.

At this stage, Mr. Sudhir Nar, Standing counsel for UOI, who is present in Court, submitted that he is appearing in the instant case before the Arbitrator as well and that he has no objection in case the instant petition is accepted and the period for concluding the Arbitration proceedings is extended by another 6 months.

In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition is allowed and the period for concluding the Arbitration proceedings is extended by another 6 months.
