The prayer in the present writ petition is to direct the Arbitrator to decide the market value of the acquired land. 2.

In view of the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956, the Arbitrator, nominated by the Central Government, is required to adjudicate the claim of the landowner, who stands deprived of his land, due to involuntary acquisition. It has been noticed that the aforesaid arbitration proceedings are pending for more than 5 years. 2.

At the request of the Court, Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shehrawat, Assistant Advocate General, Haryana and Mr.Jaspal Singh Pannu, Assistant Advocate General, Haryana, accept notice on behalf of the respondents and on the instructions from Mrs. Neha Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Palwal, submit that the Arbitrator shall decide the matter, positively, within a period of two months, from today.
