The prayer in the present writ petition is to direct the Arbitrator to decide the market value of the acquired land. 2.

In view of the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956, the Arbitrator, nominated by the Central Government, is required to adjudicate the claim of the landowner, who stands deprived of his land, due to the involuntary acquisition of land. It has been noticed that the aforesaid arbitration proceedings are pending for a period of more than 7 years. 2.
