Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that due to the property dispute, petitioners are apprehending threat to their lives and liberty at the hands of private respondents and a representation to this effect was made to Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, copy of which has been placed on file as Annexure P-2 but no action has been taken. Litigation regarding the dispute over the plot is pending and the petitioners after loosing the civil suit has filed the appeal. Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka to look into the representation of petitioners so far as it relates to threat to their lives and liberty, verify the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

However, nothing contained in this order shall be interpreted as giving any direction to the police to interfere in the property dispute qua which the matter is already pending before the Civil Court and the petitioners can avail appropriate remedy provided under law before the Civil Court.
