Ms. Pallavi Babbar, Advocate for the petitioners Ms. Dimple Jain, AAG, Haryana **** JAGMOHAN BANSAL, J. (ORAL) The petitioners, through the instant criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, are seeking issuance of mandamus directing official respondents to protect life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents. Status report by way of affidavit dated 18.1.2023 of Sajjan Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kalayat, District Kaithal on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3 is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at appropriate place. Learned State counsel submits that investigating officer has recorded statements of almost all the respondents and they have assured that they will not interfere in the life and liberty of the petitioners. Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Vikram Singh, assured the Court that investigating officer would take stern action against the private respondents, if they create obstruction in the life and liberty of the petitioners.

In view of statement of learned State counsel, this Court is sanguine of the fact that law enforcing agencies would protect life and liberty of petitioners.
