Mr. Brijesh, Advocate for Mr. Angrej Singh *** HARSH BUNGER, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent No.2 to reissue the passport of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the respondents informs the Court that the application submitted by the petitioner for re-issuance of the passport was rejected by the passport authorities vide order dated 14.08.2024. She further informs that the petitioner has already availed his remedy of appeal against the rejection order, which is pending consideration before the Appellate Authority.

CWP-29279-2024 (O&M) - - prays that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition, however, he further prays that time bound directions be issued for the decision of the said appeal.

Learned counsel for the respondents does not dispute to the aforesaid course of action being adopted.

In view of the above, the present writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn, however, it is directed that the appeal preferred by the petitioner be decided by the Appellate Authority expeditiously and preferably within a period of four weeks from today.
