The petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a direction that the petitioners, who are working as Tubewell Operators on contract basis, be not replaced by another set of contractual employees. An apprehension has been expressed that the newly elected Sarpanch may replaced them with his favourites.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from BDPO, Ibrahimpur, Yamuna Nagar, submits that the power to remove Tubewell Operators has now been given to a Committee consisting of Chief Executive Officer/District President of Zila Parishad and two other members. Removal can only be done on the basis of resolution passed by the Gram Panchayat, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the affected person(s). So far no resolution has been passed by the Gram Panchayat regarding removal of the petitioners, therefore, there is no basis for the Ashwani Kumar 2023.11.29 18:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
