Through the instant criminal writ petition, the petitioner has sought issuance of directions upon the respondents No.1 to 3, to ensure protection of his and his family's life and liberty, at the hands of the respondents No.4 to 10.

This Court, through drawing an order on 28.10.2024, directed the respondent-State to file a short reply, disclosing therein, as to whether there genuinely exists any threat to the petitioner. Accordingly, today the learned State counsel has filed a short reply, on affidavit of Gurdeep Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sub Division), Zira, which is taken on record. Copy of the short reply is also supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioner.

What emerges forth from a perusal of the short reply, is that, preventive action has already been taken against the accused. Moreover, petitioner's safety is also being ensured through area security and specific DEVINDER YADAV 2024.11.26 15:28 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-10434-2024 instructions have also been given by the author of the short reply to the S.H.O., P.S. Sadar Zira, to ensure safety of the petitioner and his family. The relevant paragraph of the short reply is reproduced hereunder:- "9. That moreover, vide GD no.008 dated 09.11.2024 PS:Zira, preventive action has also been taken against the accused namely Nirmal Singh son of Ajit Singh, Davinder Singh alias Davinderpal Singh son of Gurbachan Singh, residents of Boghe Wala, Gurbhej Singh son of Resham Singh and Gurbir Singh son of Resham Singh, residents of Basti Baba Tulsi Dass, Dolle Wala, PS:Kot Isse Khan, Further vide GD no.034 dated 15.11.2024, PS:Zira, preventive action has also been taken against accused Gurcharan Singh son of Ajaib Singh. Through area security, safety of the petitioner is also being ensured and vide letter no. 2136-D dated 01-11-2024, the answering deponent has specifically instructed SHO, PS:Sadar Zira to ensure safety of the petitioner and his family without any fail."

In view of what has been stated in the short reply, no further direction is required to be passed. Therefore, the instant petition is closed. 5.

Disposed of accordingly.
