The instant petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus for directing respondent No.2, to decide the statutory appeal dated 18.10.2024 (Annexure P-3) filed by petitioner, against the punishment order dated 09.10.2024 (Annexure P-2), passed by respondent No.1. Further prayer has been made to direct respondent No.1, not to effect recovery from the salary of the petitioner in pursuance to the order dated 09.10.2024 (Annexure P-2) till the decision of statutory appeal dated 18.10.2024 (Annexure P-3). 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner prays for deciding the statutory appeal filed by the petitioner dated 18.10.2024 (Annexure P-3) expeditiously by passing a speaking order in a time-bound manner. 3.

Ms. Sunint Kaur, Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and submits that the appeal filed by the petitioner shall be decided expeditiously.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction that the appeal dated 18.10.2024 (Annexure P-3) pending before the Appellate Authority shall be decided within a period of 06 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Further recovery from the petitioner shall remain stayed and would be subject to the final order that may be passed by the Appellate Authority.

The petition stands disposed of.
