The petitioner challenges order dated 10.12.2021 (Annexure P-5) passed by Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana, Jails Department-respondent No.1, vide which the case of the petitioner for his premature release, has been deferred for 2 years. The operative portion of the said order reads as follows: "3. After agreeing with the recommendations of the State Level Committee, the case of premature release of this life convict is deferred for two years and will be re-considered after two years from the dated 20.11.2020."

At the very outset, learned State counsel has today filed a short reply wherein it has been deposed by Mr. Jagjit Singh, Inspector General of Prisons, Haryana, that the case of the petitioner for his premature release has been initiated on 19.12.2022 and has been put up before the State Level Committee. Learned State counsel has submitted that MOHAN SINGH 2023.02.02 18:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-11956-2022 (O&M) - 2 - the matter would be examined and considered in the next State Level Committee.

In view of the aforestated position, this Court finds that the deferred period of 2 years, as per order dated 10.12.2021 (Annexure P-5) has already expired and the case of the petitioner is under consideration. As such, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the authorities concerned, to ensure that his case is considered in the next State Level Committee.

A copy of this order be conveyed to the authorities concerned so as to enable them to do the needful.
