Petitioner is undergoing sentence of rigorous imprisonment for 10 years awarded to him vide judgment/order dated 21.01.2019 for the offence punishable under Section 15 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. He seeks parole to attend the marriage of his sister, which is fixed for 01.12.2019.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that father of petitioner had died and there is no one in the family to look after the marriage function.

The marriage is fixed for 01.12.2019. The marriage card placed on file is on behalf of mother of the petitioner and the names of so many persons/relatives find mention in the card, which shows that even in the absence of petitioner, the marriage function can be looked after by them. CRWP-1322-2019 -2In view of the above, I do not find any reason to extend the benefit of parole to the petitioner.
