Pursuant to issuance of notice of motion, reply by way of affidavit of Sh. Anil Kumar Bhanot, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur has been filed by learned State counsel today in Court on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3, which is taken on record. Para No.2 of the said reply reads as follows:

"2. That in compliance of aforementioned order passed by this Hon'ble Court it is submitted that the police of P.S. Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur visited the house of the petitioners on 08-12-2019 at given address in the petition and they got recorded their statements and stated that they have solemnized marriage with each other without consent of their family members and they are living happily as husband and wife at Village Mand, P.S. Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur and they have no danger to their life and liberty from their family members and they do not requires police protection. It has also been verified from the village that there has been PANKAJ KAKKAR 2020.01.09 18:20 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-1396-2019 (O&M) panchayati compromise dated 05-12-2019 and now the petitioners are residing happily at Village Mand."

Faced with the aforesaid position, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the present petition may be disposed of in view of the aforesaid reply.

Since the petitioners are stated to be living happily at present and do not apprehend any threat to their life and liberty, the present petition is rendered infructuous and is disposed of as such.

However, in case the petitioners again apprehend any kind of threat to their life and liberty at a later stage, they would be at liberty to approach this Court again seeking appropriate relief.
