Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to release interest on account of delayed payment of amount, pension and pensionary benefits, etc. to the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that although the retiral dues of the petitioner have been released, however, the same have been released after a considerable delay. The details of delayed payment has been made in Para 2 of the writ petition. He further submits that for claiming the aforesaid relief, the petitioners have submitted a legal notice dated 15.09.2024 (Annexure P-1) and at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied, if the said legal notice is decided by passing a speaking order within a time bound frame. 3.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioners and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent - Managing Director, Pepsu Road Transport Corporation, to decide legal notice dated 15.09.2024 (Annexure P-1), submitted by the petitioners expeditiously, by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Necessary benefits, if any, found due to the petitioners shall be released expeditiously preferably within a period of four weeks thereafter.
