The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of regular bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.32 dated 22.1.2019 at Police Station Sadar Sonipat, Haryana under Sections 376 and 506 of Indian Penal Code. 2.

The FIR was lodged at the instance of the victim, wherein it has been alleged that the petitioner while holding out a false promise of marriage established physical relations with her but did not keep his promise. 3.

The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted taht the FIR came to be lodged due to some misunderstanding, which has now been resolved and that infact a petition i.e. CRM-M-48260 of 2019 for quashing of FIR on grounds of compromise has already been filed in this Court wherein notice of motion has been issued.

Opposing the petition, the learned State counsel has submitted that since specific allegations have been levelled in the FIR, no case for grant of bail is made out.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case and while bearing in mind the fact that the petitioner has been behind bars since the last more than 10 months and the matter is stated to have been compromised, further detention of the petitioner will not serve any useful purpose.
