CRWP-9994-2025 Petitioner, a convict, in case FIR No.102 dated 28.06.1987, registered against him for commission of offence punishable under Section 15 of the NDPS Act, at Police Station Sadar Moga, District Moga, has filed the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue appropriate directions to the respondents to decide his parole application dated 01.06.2025 (Annexure P2), at the earliest.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, presently aged about 73 years, was convicted under Section 15 of the NDPS Act and awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with fine, in the aforesaid FIR. He has already undergone a custody period of 4 years and 11 months. His conduct in jail has been quite up to the mark. CRWP-9994-2025 grant of parole to him in order to meet his family. The said application, as per learned counsel for the petitioner, has not been decided till date. It is in this backdrop, the present petition has been moved. In para No.9 of the petition, the details of the conviction awarded to the petitioner have also been highlighted. 3.

Heard. Documents have been perused.

Without adverting to the merits of the averments made in the petition, the present petition is allowed with direction to the officials respondents to decide the application of the petitioner dated 01.06.2025 (Annexure P2), for granting him parole, within a period of one month from today.
