Present second petition has been filed under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 439 Cr.P.C.), for grant of regular bail to the petitioner, during the pendency of trial, who has been booked in a criminal case arising out of First Information Report, as detailed here-under:- Name of Petitioner(s) FIR No.

While the petitioner was in custody, 370 loose intoxicant tablets were allegedly recovered from his possession in another case, which were later identified as 'Buprenorphine Hydrochloride'. 3.

On the statement of learned State counsel that the statements of all the witnesses, except three, had already been recorded, the earlier regular bail petition filed by the petitioner, i.e., CRM-M-6220-2025 titled "Bhagwant Singh @ Paggu v. State of Punjab" (Annexure P-3), was dismissed at that stage by this Court vide order dated 17.02.2025. 4.

Today, learned State counsel has filed the status report dated JAWALA RAM 2026.02.27 20:24 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRM-M-52256-2025 - 2 - 18.02.2026 in Court, which is taken on record. The Office is directed to tag the same at the appropriate place.

A copy thereof has been supplied to learned counsel for the petitioner.

As per the status report, the case is at the final stage and is fixed for 23.02.2026 for arguments. The statement of the petitioner under Section 313 Cr.P.C. (corresponding to Section 351 of the BNSS, 2023) has already been recorded on 13.02.2026.

In view of the advanced stage of the trial, this Court refrains from considering the prayer for bail at this stage. 7.

Accordingly, without making any observations on the merits of the case, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the trial Court to conclude the trial expeditiously, in accordance with law.
