Vide order dated 20.12.2023, the parties were relegated to the mediation as the dispute was between the father-in-law and mother-in-law on the one side and the wife of deceased son who happens to be the daughter-in-law and her children on the other side. 2.

As per the report received from the Mediator, the mediation was non-starter as the petitioners did not appear for the consecutive two dates.

Today, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition, however, counsel for respondent Nos.4 to 7 has submitted that in fact the present petition was only an abuse of process of SANDEEP SETHI 2024.02.28 07:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this Order/Judgment

-22024:PHHC:024183 CRWP-11217-2023 law for the reason that the same was filed by the petitioners only to protect their misdeeds.

Heard the learned counsel for the parties at length. 6.

Since the prayer in the present petition is only for protection of life and liberty of the petitioners and now the petitioners wish to withdraw the same and do not press at this stage, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn.

It is made clear that filing or pendency of this petition or any order/direction passed in this petition shall not be an alibi or defence to the petitioners, in case, they are found involved in any illegal activity and/or in violation of any law qua which the competent-authorities of the State shall take appropriate action, in accordance with law.
