The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent Nos.1 to 4 to conduct an inquiry into certificate submitted by respondent No.5 while taking appointment on compassionate ground as Panchayat Secretary in Majitha Block, District Amritsar.

The petitioner claims that she is a public-spirited person. Respondent No.5-Balwinder Kaur has been appointed as Panchayat Secretary on compassionate ground. Her husband namely Surjit Singh was working as Gram Sewak who passed away in harness. Respondent No.5, at the time of her appointment, submitted forged and fabricated certificates i.e. matriculation, 10+2 and B. Pharmacy.

As per affidavit dated 17.03.2026 filed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Bureau, Pathankot, no investigation has been conducted at the end of Vigilance Bureau. The investigation would be conducted by Vigilance Bureau if any direction is issued by the office of Financial Commissioner or this Court.

The petitioner is claiming that respondent No. 5 has taken appointment on the basis of forged and fabricated certificates. The Vigilance Bureau has forwarded the matter to the department concerned. 5.

Learned State counsel submits that Rural Development and Panchayat Office would look into the matter and take an appropriate action. 6.

In the wake of statement of learned State counsel, the petition stands disposed of.

Needless to mention that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merits of the case.
