Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for directing the official respondents to step up the pay of petitioners at par with their junior one, namely, Varinderpal Singh Thakur (respondent No. 6 herein).

It is averred that Legal Notice dated 17.08.2022 (P-8) made on behalf of petitioners is still pending before the quarter concerned. Notice of motion to the aforesaid limited extent. On asking of the Court, Ms. Lavanya Paul, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 5-State and raises no objection against the innocuous prayer of the petitioners. In view of the above, but without expressing any opinion on merits of the claim of the petitioners, this writ petition is disposed off with direction to the competent authority to consider and decide the above legal notice as per law by passing a reasoned order within two months from receipt of certified copy of this order.
