Heard learned counsel for the rival parties.

By way of the present petition, learned counsel for the petitioner has restricted the relief to the extent of amalgamation of two Gram Panchayats into one in view of Section 3 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act. It is not in dispute, which is clear from hearing of all the rival parties, that there is no order passed by the competent authority and after hearing the parties, passing result order in accordance with the dicta laid down in the case of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee versus State of Punjab and others, 2013 (3) RCR (Civil) 1023 (DB) by a Division Bench of this AMIT KAUNDAL 2019.03.18 16:59 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Court.

CWP No. 22765 of 2018 (O & M) -2In our opinion and looking into the directions issued in the said judgment, it would be appropriate for the competent authority to hear all the concerned parties and also call the records of the concerned officials and thereafter pass a speaking order within a period of six months from today. In that view of the matter, the petition is disposed of with the the above direction.
