The instant petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant one notional increment for the pensionary benefits, on completion of one full year of service on the date of his retirement in view of judgment dated 16.03.2022 (Annexure P-1) rendered in CWP No. 32598 of 2019 titled as 'Gurdev Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and another', which has been upheld by Division Bench of this Court vide judgment dated 09.04.2024, passed in LPA No. 696 of 2022, titled as 'State of Punjab and another vs. Malagar Singh', and other connected appeals.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that for claiming the said relief, petitioner had already submitted representation dated 10.11.2022 (Annexure P-5) and he would be satisfied if appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to consider the said claim as submitted in the representation (Annexure P-5) in a time bound manner. 3.

Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that the said representation shall be considered by respondent No.2. 4.

In view of the above, let the claim of the petitioner for grant of one additional increment as submitted in representation dated 10.11.2022 (Annexure P-5) shall be considered by respondent No.2, by passing a speaking order, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms. 6.
